On February 4, 2022, the sculptor Michael Klein died at the age of 78. He was still working on several commissions until the end. In 1985, he created the two high reliefs Bettina von Arnim and Achim von Arnim for Schloss Wiepersdorf, which will be on display again in the castle's museum in the future.

From January 7 to 9, 2022, a group of illustrators created portraits of writers inspired by Bettina von Arnim. The portraits will become part of the redesigned museum of Schloss Wiepersdorf.

Oliver Schulze had not forgotten the color film when he made Wiepersdorf Castle shine in many colors for the traditional Christmas concert in the castle park on the 4th Sunday in December with musicians of the brass quartet of the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt/Oder.

In June, the fellows of 2022 have been selected by an expert jury.

The cultural and theater scholar Corinna Kirschstein receives the research grant awarded in cooperation with the Goethe and Schiller Archive, Klassik Stiftung Weimar: "Die deutsche Tischgesellschaft von 1811: Romantic Sociability, Gender Politics, Anti-Semitism." Corinna Kirschstein will work at Wiepersdorf Castle from September to November 2021.

The "Deutsche Tischgesellschaft," founded by Achim von Arnim in 1811, gathered representatives from art, science, administration and the military, such as Fichte, Savigny, Schinkel and Schleiermacher. Women and Jews were not admitted.

By researching the exclusive circle, Corinna Kirschstein hopes to gain insights into the longings for an ethnically and culturally homogeneous society under the condition of the dissolution of class structures around 1800.

The publication Art in a Conflicted World presents works by Sarah Dobai, Nikita Kadan, Ali Eisa and Sebastian Lloyd Rees (Lloyd Corporation) as well as writings by Alisa Ganieva and Tanya Breslin Zaharchenko. The contributions are the fruits of an interdisciplinary fellowship program at Kulturstiftung Schloss Wiepersdorf that offers the participants an opportunity to gain fresh creative and cultural insights, test ways of engaging with complexity, and develop models for the future that transcend national boundaries.
