"Christmas Connects Worlds": An international Advent Concert for Tolerance and Against Misanthropy and anti-Semitism will take place on December 10 at 7:00 p.m.

The concert will feature a diverse lineup of international artists. Matthias Nawrat, a Wiepersdorf Fellow, will also give a special poetry reading for the occasion. There will be a variety of ensembles, from choirs to swing bands, from classical to folk. Art'n'Voices from Gdansk, the Original Vintage Orchestra from Prague, the Heimatsounds Potsdam, young Brandenburg prizewinners of ‘Jugend Musiziert’ and choirs and orchestra from the Church will be among the performers.

The event will be hosted by Tim Jäger from Potsdam, reporter for ‘Brandenburg Aktuell’.

Before the concert, a panel discussion on the topic “Loving one's nation versus nationalism – where is the line in Poland and Germany?” will take place at 5:30 p.m., featuring distinguished speakers from Poland, the border region, and Potsdam. A small Christmas market with information stands has also been announced.

The Wiepersdorf residency of Matthias Nawrat is part of the program “Seen from afar - Encounters in Brandenburg”. The program is a cooperation project between the Brandenburg Literature Council and the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. It is taking place as part of “Connecting Worlds - Kulturland Brandenburg 2024/2025”. Kulturland Brandenburg 2024/2025 is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning of the State of Brandenburg.
