Composing with Structures

In his podcast, Adrian Kleinlosen talks about composing with structures in the 21st century. Even though structural composing is in the tradition of Bach, Beethoven, and Schoenberg, it goes much further, as it now designs all functions, fields, and structures from the ground up anew with each work. It can take on various forms of expression, can manifest itself in the sparse structure of a string trio as well as in immersive sound installations, in large-scale orchestral works as well as in headphone music.
