Radio play "OPDOPPLING – Berlin-Brandenburgische Recycling-Composition"
The composer, music performer and radio playwright Antje Vowinckler was a fellow at Schloss Wiepersdorf in summer 2022.
Her current radio play "OPDOPPLING" and an interview on the radio play appeared on SWR2 on 15 December 2023.
In the radio play "OPDOPPLING", Antje Vowinckler collects musical remnants in public spaces. In her piece, the radio playwright recycles the musical remnants, plays them on surfaces in the neighbourhood and finally gives them an acoustic upgrade with three percussionists in a Brandenburg location, the E-Werk Luckenwalde.
"Basses from passing cars, drum beats hissing from headphones, short snippets of pop music played via Bluetooth speakers and mobile phones. Global ambitions - now without beginning or end, reduced to a few frequencies - fly around our ears, often with a Doppler effect, and colonise the public space. Once swallowed, they drift inside us like plastic in the sea," is how Antje Vowinckler describes the current work.
