"The closeness of distance" - this is the title of performance artist Nezaket Ekici's one-hour filmic reflection on long-distance relationships. Based on the relationship between Bettina and Achim von Arnim around 200 years ago, the artist embarks on a journey by carriage from Schloss Wiepersdorf to Berlin.
The film, which is being shown in Berlin for the first time, was made in 2021 as part of a fellowship at Schloss Wiepersdorf. Accompanied by quotes from the partners' letters, Ms. Ekici traverses the landscapes and places that repeatedly separated the lovers.
