HALLOWEEN IN WIEPERSDORF
with Galit Dahan Carlibach and Shachar Magen
Reading in German language and Film (Multilingual version with German subtitles / length: 60 min. / from 16 years)
Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 5:00 p.m.
Schloss Wiepersdorf
Wiepersdorf – Bettina-von-Arnim-Str. 13, 14913 Niederer Fläming
Free admission
In a joint event, the two fellows, author Galit Dahan Carlibach and director and author Shachar Magen, will present earlier works. Both are united by their examination of the present and the past and their literary expansion through magic and fantasy.
In the story LINBER, author Galit Dahan Carlibach deals with the themes of fiction versus reality, fantasy as a force present in reality and with the big question of the power of writing as magic in itself. A young woman travels to Berlin with her German lover, where the dark past of her family catches up with her.
Shachar Magen developed the mini-series POSSESSIONS, a mystery thriller for which he co-wrote the screenplay with Valerie Zanetti. In the event the first episode of the six-part series will be presented. For Shachar Magen, writing about magic and fantasy is a way of “asking questions about faith.” In the Israeli-French series POSSESSIONS, the young French woman Nathalie is confronted with a serious accusation on the eve of her wedding: She is alleged to have killed her future husband.

DIE GESCHICHTE DER NEUNZIGER JAHRE, FAST CHRONOLOGISCH ERZÄHLT (working title)
Reading with Konrad H. Roenne
Thursday, November 7, 2024, 5:00 p.m.
Schloss Wiepersdorf
Wiepersdorf – Bettina-von-Arnim-Str. 13, 14913 Niederer Fläming
Free admission
New beginnings, utopia and death: in his new novel project, Berlin author Konrad H. Roenne deals with alternative life plans that found an open space and framework after the fall of the Berlin Wall, particularly in the former GDR.
At the center of the text is the philosopher and GDR dissident Rudolf Bahro, who during the 1990s strove to found a commune in rural East Germany - a utopian community between communism, primitive Christianity and German idealism.
In his text, Roenne links the experiences in his private life with his own youthful perception of the 1990s as a time of upheaval and untapped opportunities.
