World Poetry Day
A Celebration of Poetry: Author’s reading with Zmicier Vishniou
Zmicier Vishniou reads for World Poetry Day at the Kulturbrauerei. Vishniou was a Fellow in Schloss Wiepersdorf in 2022, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On March 21, five authors from different parts of the world will read their texts in the original, accompanied by German translations.
The UNESCO World Poetry Day honors the value of poetry, the diversity of language as a cultural asset and the importance of oral traditions. Performing on stage this year are: Indian poet Maaz Bin Bilal (born 1986 in Delhi), Syrian poets Kholoud Charaf (born 1981 in Al-Mojaimr) and Hanadi Zarka (born 1974 in Latakia), and the Belarusian poets Volha Hapeyeva (born 1982 in Minsk) and Zmicier Vishniou (born 1973 in Debrecen).
The event will take place at Maschinenhaus Kulturbrauerei, Schönhauser Allee 36, Berlin, on March 21 at 7:30 p.m., admission 6/4 €.
A joint event of the House of Poetry and the German UNESCO Commission, the Akademie Schloss Solitude, the DAAD Berlin Artists' Program and the Kulturstiftung Schloss Wiepersdorf.
