Marcel Lepper teaches Modern German Literature at the University of Stuttgart and heads the literary archive of the Academy of Arts in Berlin. From July 2020 he will be director of the Goethe and Schiller Archive in Weimar. Research stays took him to Princeton and Cambridge. His most recent publication is 'Goethe's Euphrates. Philology and Politics in the West-Eastern Divan' (Wallstein).

The lecture took place in the context of the Schloss Wiepersdorf Virtual Residency 2020 on 17 June 2020 through Zoom.
